We now have LED Rack-Mount lights available. Four of them are seen in the light-sculpture at right but we normally sell them one at a time. No need to have a blank spot on your rack; they can be fastened atop a piece of rack gear |

The LEDs work from 12-volts DC and can easily be powered from cart batteries. It's also possible to work with a standard AC to 12-volt power supply.
A standard connection facilitates multiple powering configurations. |
| |
The articulated arm makes it easy to position the light to best advantage. It can also be folded back and tucked in for transit.
It easily mounts atop other rack gear, as seen here, so no rack space is lost. |

Many of the unique features of the Chinhda cart are available only with the cart. But there are a number of special brackets, equipment tie-downs, and other accessories that can function well on any cart. We are pleased to make these available for use with whatever cart you may have. Chinhda will provide mounting hardware for fastening the device to any suitable surface. Of course, it may be necessary to drill a few holes in your shelf or frame and that would be your responsibility. But even there we will cooperate by providing a template to help align everything.
And when you do assemble the funds to purchase the full Chinhda cart, you can simply move the brackets over to the new one. Consider it purchasing a Chinhda cart one piece at a time. |

This auxilliary half shelf is very useful for small accessories. We presently supply one with every cart but the design is easily adaptable to other carts. The half shelf, with mounting hardware, is available for $125. |

Note that the pin on the attachement plate has 3 alternate mounting holes. This permits the operator to slightly rake the mixing panel. |
Chinhda fashioned a tie-down bracket of remarkable elegance for the Sonosax SX-ST
Like all of Chinhda's brackets, no modification to the component is necessary. Flanges with the necessary pins are attached to the side panels of the Sonosax using existing screws.
Although shown here for the SX-ST Compact, the same components work equally well with the Standard model by just adjusting the spacing. (The Standard has the battery compartment at the heel.) |

Chinhda addressed two additional needs with this bracket. Although the traditional Sonosax had an elegant integrated plexi dust cover, the newer SX-ST does not. Chinhda's bracket adds a Lexan protective cover. Also, the Compact version of the SX-ST ends rather abruptly at the faders, leaving no hand rest. Chinhda's bracket incorporates an oak hand-rest in the securing clamp. |

By the way, the frame you see being lifted out of the bracket is a jig. That is, it's an exact template of a Sonosax frame so we don't have to keep a $20,000 mixer in the shop |

The bracket to fit the classic Sonosax is essentially identical to the model for the new SX-ST, differing only in spacing and the absence of a Lexan cover. (The classic Sonosax already has a very nicely integrated cover.)
Both models work by affixing an attachment plate to the head of the mixer using existing chassis screws. A broad clamping plate secures the foot. The battery tray on the classic Sonosax serves as a hand rest so this model isn't automatically fitted with the oak hand rest. But Chinhda is happy to fit the hand rest if you like. |

The complete bracket assembly consists of:
1. Slotted fittings at head
2. Plates with pins mounted to Sonosax
3. Clamp at foot
The metal plate seen here is a template to assist in determining points to drill holes. It could be used to reinforce a weak shelf but it is intended only as a measuring template. |

The Cooper 208 bracket holds the mixer securely with fittings that use the attachment points already fitted to, or part of, the mixer.
At the head, the mixer is secured with the screw that normally attaches the carry handle. |
At the foot, a broad plate with fold over lip clamps the console without the need for any modification to the panel.
The mixer can be released from the mount in a few moments by loosening the head and food attachment screws. |

The tie-down bracket for the Aaton Cantar works by fastening a frame to the recorder that can be easily snapped into a matching frame attached to a shelf on the cart.
The Aaton already has a 3/8" x 16 tripod socket, of course, and could be mounted with that alone. However, the Chinhda attachment offers a number of advantages:
- The recorder can be quickly and securely mounted without the need to fumble with a tie-off bolt.
- Holding the recorder about half an inch above the deck permits ready access to the time-code connection and the headphone socket.
- The added height also provides easier access to the DVD burner.

The slide clamp quickly and securely fastens the Aaton frame to the bracket.
The slot in the frame that mounts to the Aaton exactly fits the strap loops on the base of the recorder, providing a snug attachment. |
Made entirely of aluminum except for some small fittings, the entire bracket assembly weighs just 1.8 pounds. The frame that attaches to the Cantar is only 0.6 pounds and can easily be left attached for insert car work or a hand-held scene. It's easily removable for more extensive hand-held work. In the production model, the tie-down screw is fitted with a folding handle for ease in attachment without tools. |

The Deva bracket uses the extruded edge of the frame. Two stainless steel channels, one fixed and one adjustable, clamp the Deva casing from either side. |
The bracket works equally well mounted below a shelf, as seen at right, or on top. Mounting below, so the recorder hangs from the shelf, permits very efficient use of cart space. |

The bracket is machined from a solid I-beam. The I-beam is selected to be just the right size for the 744 and 702 recorders. (The new 788T recorder is slightly larger. Chinhda will develop a bracket for that as well but it is not available at this time.)
It can clamp the recorder equally well from the top as the bottom edge, permitting the bracket to be mounted on the underside of a shelf for efficient space utilization.
Mounting to any shelf is simple: drill four holes and screw the bracket to your deck. |

Sound Devices 788 Bracket |
Brackets to secure the Sound Devices 788 recorder are now available. The final design is the result of considerable thought and feedback from clients.
It's all aluminum and very light. Only 9.5 ounces by our luggage scale - light enough to use with the recorder in a bag without weighing you down. (more about that later) |
The recorder slides into the frame and is secured by moving a latch into position with your thumb. The latch is spring loaded and stays securely in place without the necessity of tightening any screws or anything of the sort. Just slide in the recorder and slip the latches closed.
The recorder is firmly held between a rubberized stop and the front latches so there is no rattle or wriggle; it is "one" with your cart shelf.

The design is open and provides ready access to all inputs, outputs and controls and also the battery mount and CF card. Everything necessary for operation is available without the need to develop double-jointed fingers.
The mount can also be readily lifted to position the recorder above the lip of a tray.
DIMENSIONS:

7.0625-inches Deep

The design is minimal and as open as possible but still sufficient to securely hold the recorder.
The rubberized stop in the photo at left holds the recorder firmly in position. (The recorder is not fully back in place in the photo.)
The image at right shows the sliding latch in close-up. Note the cut=out that permits keeping a CL8 Controller mounted when using the bracket. (You'll need some stand-offs to make space between the 788 and the CL8. Let us know and we'll provide them.) |

This image shows the prototype bracket rigged in an over-under configuration. |
The bracket has been designed from the beginning to work in double recorder applications. It works equally well on top of a shelf or underneath and can be double mounted to handle two SD 788 recorders simultaneously. There is no offset so buttons are in exactly the same position top and bottom. |
This picture shows a double rig as it was shipped to a client. The cardboard represents the cart shelf so the client could examine the position of mounting screws, washers, etc. We hope to soon replact this photo with an image from our client of two recorders mounted up on one shelf. |

Still in development: |
Chinhda is making some spring clips that would permit snapping the entire 788 Bracket onto your cart shelf. This would be an alternate to affixing the bracket with screws and would be an extra cost accessory. The idea behind it is that the bracket is light enough to be kept attached to the recorder. The frame holds the fabric of the bag (Portabrace, Petrol, etc.) away from the recorder to permit air circulation and allow the machine to run a bit cooler. This should be available in a few weeks. (December 2009) |
The 788 bracket is available for $325
That price includes all mounting hardware
The spring clip quick release is expected to cost between $50 and $75. (but is not necessary for most applications.)

The laptop tray has the ability to significantly expand the workspace without increasing the size of the cart. When you need to move, the tray folds up flush with the side of the cart, permitting passage through doorways with ease. When you land, the trays fan out for a spacious work environment. |
Working on Entourage, Tom Stasinis can spread out and still keep everything ready to hand. |
The support arm is sufficiently strong and rigid to manage the heaviest laptop. It's even strong enough to manage a medium-size playback amp. While we don't recommend it for cinder blocks or boat anchors, it can easily accommodate twenty pounds of gear or a bit more. |
Friction fittings on the arm brackets permit holding the tray in a vertical position or set at an angle. It can serve to hold sides or a clipboard for taking notes. Although the lock-off is not strong enough to permit leaning into the tray while writing, it can keep your clipboard at a comfortable angle for most notation.
Trays are available in two sizes:
large - 15" x 19"
medium - 14" x 17"
All trays have bent edges on two sides and retaining bars on two sides. An enlarged cut-out for cable access to laptop ports is standard.
A "skeleton" tray, like the one on the left, may also be ordered.
Mounting hardware is supplied to affix the support bracket to any cart frame. Because of the expected loads, the brackets need to be attached to a frame, not the lip of a shelf. (Unless the shelf is suitably reinforced.) |
To improve the performance of the folding tray arms, Chinhda devised a locking block that can securely fasten the arm at any angle. |
Tightening the handle with the block snug against the base hinge will firmly fix the arm in position. |
Locking blocks are available for tray arms on request.
Presently carts are delivered with clips on the accessory posts that grip the rails of the trays and hold them securely in a vertical position. |

The rackmount headset hook came from a client request. Richard Lightstone had long admired the regular Chinhda hooks available at Coffey Sound and LSC but couldn't find good mounting spots on his rack based cart. He asked if Chinhda could make a small hook that could mount to a rack rail. Chinhda came up with this design that fastens to a single rack space. Chinhda supplies it with longish screws so that it can be mounted on top of a piece of rack gear and doesn't need blank space on the rack. The pictures here show it prior to anodizing. |

Monitor frame and bracket |
Chinhda supplies every cart with two protective frames for monitors. Each frame has its own mounting arm and there is also a Noga flex arm to position them paired up. A thin sheet of Lexan provides protection for the screen while permitting access to controls.
Purchased separately, these frames can easily be mounted on any cart. |
Frames can be made to fit most 7" monitors, such as the Marshall or the Nebtek (both pictured here), although some custom milling is typically required. (The manufacturers change the monitor designs so often that Chinhda no longer makes an effort to fit particular models. He asks that you send him the monitor(s) and he'll perform the required milling at a minimal charge.) |

Chinhda is offering his milling services to exactly fit his frame to your monitor for $125. That includes whatever milling is needed to mount the monitor into the protective frame and also to cut out the frame and the Lexan screen as needed to give access to buttons. This one flat rate applies whether it's just one or two monitors. That is, two monitors: $125 all in. If he encounters a monitor that he cannot reasonably fit at that price, he will advise before proceeding with work and also, if the client chooses, accept the return of the frame for a full refund. |

Everything is supplied with suitable mounting hardware but you are responsible for attachment. Generally no great skill is necessary; we regard it as normal bicycle mechanics. You may have to drill a few holes in your cart (never in the equipment!) to make a suitable attachment.
All of the articles shown here are available but we do ask your understanding regarding delivery times and schedules. Everything is a hand made product, crafted by one man. Some things are available only in very small quantities. Chinhda will fill all orders but it may take awhile to assess demand and adjust his output to match. Thank you for understanding.
