The Perfect Soundcart - Part 2: Sliding recorder platform
The chrome frame rails are mounted on standoffs to keep them about 1/4 inch above the deck. The aluminum channel mounted below the recorder platform easily glides on the frame rails.
Viewed from the other side, the brass stand-off is easily visible below the chrome frame rail. The platform is about 2 inches open in this view. When closed, the holes are aligned and the platform can be secured by inserting an aircraft pin. The aluminum glide channel is cut to leave a finger protruding slightly at one end. This catches the brass stand-off to prevent the platform from opening too far.
