	Sound Devices 788 bracket now available Brackets to mount the Sound Devices 788 recorder to a shelf on your cart are now available. The can secure the recorder either on top of a shelf or underslung and two brackets can be joined for double recorder mounts. Locking the recorder into the frame requires only sliding a spring-loaded retainer in place. For more information, click on the picture.

Nagra VI
First Look

We were given an advance look at the new Nagra just prior to its formal introduction here in Los Angeles. Click on the picture for our impressions.

I recently had the opportunity to become acquainted with the new Nagra VI prior to its wide release. There is much to like in this new recorder but no machine is equally well suited to all applications. I’ll examine the relative strengths of the Nagra and try to evaluate how it fits into the mix of available digital recorders. (more)

Nagra VI, VI Months later

Software updates and DVD burning enhance the usefulness and capabilities of the recorder.

Since radio mikes are a standard component on most film and television projects, any recorder must be compatible with radio receivers. This is especially important for a recorder that may be used in a shoulder bag and operate in close proximity to the receivers (more)

The Sound Cart Project

Chinhda has updated and refined the design of his sound cart. With the design locked down, carts are again available for sale. Click on the picture, at left, to see the latest version.

While there have been no progress reports for more than a year, Chinhda has not been idle. He took some time off from deadlines and client requests to refine the original design to make it stronger, more rigid and responsive to the challenges users faced in the field.(more)
