Chinhda Products Update
August 23, 2010

There may be some changes in how Chinhda products will be marketed. He had indicated to me that he wished to make a complete change and I posted a notice here that his products would no longer be available from Production Recording. But, now is reconsidering that decision. Until I know more, I will refrain from restoring links to all the products. But, for the time being, Chinhda products are still available from Production Recording. Send me an e-mail message with any inquiries and I'll get back to you with cost and availability information. Click HERE for more information. (David Waelder 8/23/2010)

I recently had the opportunity to become acquainted with the new Nagra VI prior to its wide release. There is much to like in this new recorder but no machine is equally well suited to all applications. I’ll examine the relative strengths of the Nagra and try to evaluate how it fits into the mix of available digital recorders. (more)

RF "Spray"
From the Nagra VI

A reader asked about RF "spray" from the Nagra and we ran some tests to investigate. Click on the picture to see the results.

Since radio mikes are a standard component on most film and television projects, any recorder must be compatible with radio receivers. This is especially important for a recorder that may be used in a shoulder bag and operate in close proximity to the receivers (more)
